It is with profound sadness that the Town of Harpswell announces the passing of Michael Drake, its Fire Administrator, Fire Warden and Emergency Management Director.

In our last newsletter, we reported on our “bumper crop” of new volunteer responder recruits.   The town had a total of 12 new EMTS, who completed training and certified in January 2026. 

Our Fire and Rescue Accession Program (FRAP)offers a structured and supervised program for residents of Harpswell aged 16 to 30 to explore and gain experience with the various aspects of fire and rescue services.

The Orr’s and Bailey Islands Fire Department is offering the opportunity to order a commemorative paver as a way to show your support.
