OBIFD Celebrates New Recruits and More At Annual Recognition Dinner
The Orr’s Island Schoolhouse was the setting for OBIFD’s Annual Recognition Dinner on June 19.
We celebrated the graduation from training of the “bumper crop” of new EMTs and firefighters from the Orr’s and Bailey Islands and Cundy’s Harbor Fire Departments. Congratulations to all of them!

Mike Poirier, who is retiring from his service as the CCMCC Senior Dispatcher for all three Harpswell departments was honored and lauded by Sean Hall, Assistant Fire Chief for OBIFD. Sean also recognized EMT Cindy Bessmer for her limitless dedication as a rescue responder with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
