Non-responder Volunteer Opportunities

  • The Finance Committee provides financial oversight of the organization in order to maintain its financial viability, including developing and monitoring the budget, investment policies and strategies, capital campaigns, credit lines, audit and review, and sources of income/revenue.

  • The Fundraising and Events Committee develops, implements, and tracks income generated from appeals, sponsorships, gifts, sales, and memorials. The committee is also responsible for planning and organizing social and community events that support the organization’s mission regardless of whether they are intended to raise funds.

  • The Outreach Committee maintains public visibility and awareness of the organization’s activities and accomplishments, including design and upkeep of the website and social media sources, producing periodic newsletters, communicating with local media outlets, promoting awareness of newsworthy activities, and submitting articles and press releases.

  • The Recruitment and Retention Committee develops and implements strategies to ensure adequate numbers of volunteer first responders are engaged in carrying out the broad scope of tasks and responsibilities needed to deliver the organization’s fire & rescue mission.

  • The Responder Support Committee provides opportunities and funding for our volunteer first responders to attend courses, conferences, workshops, and activities to promote professional growth, skill development, and enhanced service to the department and community.

  • The Orr’s Island Schoolhouse Committee provides for the administration of tasks and responsibilities required to schedule and facilitate the use of the Schoolhouse building and grounds in ways that benefit both the organization and the community.   • The Strategic Planning Committee develops and maintains strategies and plans that ensure the organization can perform its mission into the future.
