donate to obifd

Donations are essential to our ability to respond when you, your neighbors and your loved ones need help.

Many of you may not know that OBIFD is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that receives just 30% of its operations funding from the town of Harpswell, paid by taxpayer dollars. The other 70% comes from OBIFD’s own fundraising and from supporter donations.

OBIFD is also steward of the historic Orr’s Island Schoolhouse, located adjacent to the fire station. The Orr’s Island Schoolhouse is a treasured historic landmark. It serves as a popular gathering place for community organizations and events and can be rented by private parties for meetings, special occasions and celebrations. Donations can be earmarked for the Orr’s Island Schoolhouse by request.

We ask that you “help us help you” with fire and rescue services or that you support our stewardship of the historic Orr’s Island Schoolhouse by donating below.

You can also mail a check, payable to Orr’s and Bailey Islands Fire Dept, PO Box 177, Orr’s Island, ME 04066

Memorial Tribute and Honorary Gifts

There is now a commemorative walkway leading into the Schoolhouse. You can purchase a paver, engraved with a message in memory of a loved one.

A memorial/tribute/honorary gift is a meaningful way to convey sympathy to the bereaved, memorialize a loved one or commemorate a special occasion or honor a person’s life.

Planned Giving

Perpetuate your support of OBIFD beyond your lifetime by making a planned gift through your will or estate plan. Kindly send us an email at marketing@obifd.org. A board member will respond.

Giving Through Your Employer

Many organizations offer the ease of giving through a payroll deduction. Some employers will even match your donation with one of their own. Please check with your employer’s benefits representative or human resources department to see if this can work for you.
