OBIFD is a fully volunteer fire department with a primary station located at 1600 Harpswell Islands Road on Orr’s Island, and a substation located at 2094 Harpswell Islands Road on Bailey Island. From the Orr’s Island Station OBIFD operates one fire engine with a 1,500 GPM pump and 1,000 gallon water tank, one pumper/tanker with a 500 GPM pump and 2,000 gallon water tank, one ALS ambulance, and one truck carrying portable fire and rescue equipment. From the substation on Bailey Island, OBIFD operates one fire engine with a 1,000 GPM pump and 1,000 gallons of water.  For structure fire responses, one engine and one tanker also respond from the Cundy’s Harbor Fire Station and the Harpswell Neck Fire Station automatically.

We are in an ISO level 9 district within 5 miles of the fire station. Beyond that we are ISO level 10.
