Bailey Island Antique Back on the Road!

The "Bailey Island Antique" is a 1954 Ford, purchased new from the local Ford dealer. Rich in heritage, there are several islanders who recall responding to fires in this now-vintage pumper.

As part of a "rolling restoration," we’ve recently upgraded the brakes, converted to electronic ignition, and from a 6 volt positive ground system to a 12 volt negative ground.

New tires have been purchased and will be installed shortly.

Next will be to swap the transmission for something a little "gentler"!

We’ll be more visible in town as the weather improves in ‘22, but watch for us - we are on the road!
